With a contemporary rectangular design which is new for 2016 and available in Light Wood. This aquarium and cabinet have a modern look with push close doors and no overhang, giving the Rio a sleek and elegant look.

Large fish and even the most demanding of marine species will be right at home in the Rio 450. The safety base frame ensures especially safe positioning and allows you to set up your aquarium easily, with no need for special supports.

The Rio 450 has Juwel's new LED lighting system - their new Multilux LED light bar. Giving more efficient and brighter lighting, future proofing your aquarium for years to come.

Filtration wise the Rio is equipped as standard with the Bio-flow filter system with pump and heater incorporated neatly inside the Bio-flow unit. Offering a 6 litre filter volume and with all filter media included, the filter combines efficiency with excellent safety standards. The Eccoflow 1000 pump included offers high performance water circulation whilst being both energy efficient and quiet.

A 300w Juwel heater covers any upgrades to a tropical tank you require and will manage you aquarium temperature between 20 - 30 °C with it's thermostatic control system. This is all contained within a shock-proof borosilicate glass with high quality silver contacts.

For optimum filtering, the Rio 450 is fitted with a high-performance Bioflow XL. This internal filter combines efficiency with safety and forms the centrepiece of any Juwel aquarium. It works on the principle that "The water should stay in the aquarium!" and is the safest way of filtering an aquarium. The Bioflow XL comes fitted with five high-performance filter media and a quiet yet powerful Eccoflow 1000 circulation pump.

The 300 Watt Juwel adjustable heater, which is perfectly embedded in the water circulation in the Bioflow 6.0 filter system, ensures the right temperature in the Rio 450.

Because it uses top-quality silver contacts and shock-proof borosilicate glass, Juwel adjustable heaters meet the highest standards in both function and safety and, as you would expect, are GS certified.
